Felipe Barral Momberg is a renaissance man who expresses himself in many ways -- through his art (painting and photography), his music, and his writing (he's a poet and a journalist). His art work is born in a mixture of poetry, music and images that gives foundation to the creativity by its disciplines. In certain forms, he is influenced by the vision of Leonardo da Vinci. Barral Momberg's painting technique is a mixed process of airbrush and hand on paper or canvas. By applying layer upon layer of paint, he creates paintings of enigmatic textures that narrate passages of deeply poetic and philosophical content and beauty. His current series includes large-scale paintings that explore the inner depths of the human mind and soul. His work has been exhibited in both solo and group shows both in the U.S. and in his native Chile and has graced the covers of several books. He has been playing in the U.S. with his band Fugatar, a powerfull mix of ominous guitars and frantic bursts of intensity in what he calls spoken rock. He has performed as well the soundtrack he composed for the 1922 classic silent film Nosferatu, by F.W. Murnau. In 1998 he released this CD in Chile thanks to the sponsorship of the German Government. His poems have been published in 3 books of poetry, including Múrberon, a beautifully crafted work with 54 poems and 54 pictures of black & white female nude. Barral Momberg has a Master's degree in Philosophy and lives in Atlanta, United States, where he is an Assignment Editor for CNN en Español. He is also the driving force behind the Édak project, both the Literature Magazine and Publishers Group.
